Default Looking into a new sub. Need some opinions.

    Hey all,

I'm currently looking for a new sub but I'm not sure what to go for.

At the present I have a mackie SWA1501, but i'm thinking of adding a bit more punch to my gigs.

I was looking at the QSC Kw181 what do you guys think?

Also, anyone has tried the new Mackie HD1801?

    Any suggestions is appreciated.

    Thanks.

What kinda punch are you looking for?
I really like the PRX JBL Series, check out the PRX618s & [ame="http://www.google.com/search?q=prx618s-xlf&hl=en&tbm=shop&aq=5&oq=prx"]PRX618s-XLF[/ame]

Well I'm a mobile DJ, so any great punch would work. Sometimes its a small room, sometimes its a big venue.

I think these guys have made a great battle between the JBL and the QSC.

But i'm simply curious to get feedback from users experiences.

At one point, I was debating between the Mackies and QSC. Then I found out how Mackie had switched production to factories outside the US, and shortly after that was when their reliability tanked in comparison to how they used to be. That added to the fact that QSC has (or at least had with the HPR series) a 6 year warranty... which is unheard of... I went with the QSC's and couldn't be happier. I picked up the KW181 last year, and can't believe the power it has. I run it with two HPR 12's, and it keeps up fine with them. JBL is pretty good too, but according to others, the QSC's have better quality. I haven't heard them, so I wouldn't know, but I love my QSC's.
