Default Is 2-step/UK garage still being made ?

Back in 2000 there was a short lived scene in the UK called UK garage which became 2-step ... then disappeared (almost) into Dubstep. Artful Dodger & Craig David, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Ms Dynamite etc. were the main artists at that time.

Eleven years on I still love the sound but can't seem to find any new artists, is anyone still making this sound, and I now looking for the wrong naming (i.e.. it's changed names again).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Garage is still going. Its not my scene but have a listen radio 1xtra and have a look around there website. Garage was defiantly not short lived (at least where I live).

Would anyone mind sharing some 2-step tunes? I went to a sorta combined 2-step/dnb/dubstep party a while back and heard some good stuff that wasn't quite as "cheesy" as what you get when you do a google for 2-step Garage.

unfortunately i have now emigrated to Barcelona, so listening to UK based radio /TV is almost impossible (even using VPN, proxies etc,).

The stuff I've listened to lately thats described as 2-step / garage isn't close to the original sound ...but i'll take your advice and pop over to juno.co.uk to see if I can find a couple of good tracks.

    Thanks

and if anyone has a list of modern UK garage artists I'd appreciate it greatly.

I was speaking from my perspective, the original sound of UK Garage quickly changed. losing a lot of the "soul" that was in it, in favour of street styled rappers ... (again from my perspective).

Anyway, garage is still about, a lot of it's got pretty po-faced, a lot of people call some of it 'future garage' (except the producers), and a lot of it has nicked stuff from dubstep, bass music and whatever people are calling 'post dubstep' this week.

genre names change every week, that's why I said UK garage. That melodic soulful vibe that was made famous by the likes of MC Cole, Artful Dodger, early Miss Dynamite back in 2000-2001. It was born out of (again from my perspective) original jungle (moving shadow etc.)

I'm not interested in what's called "UKG" now (name taken from the forums in the UK), it's far to hard and glitchy, If i want glitchy i'd prefer Crookers etc.

Maybe someone can give me this weeks genre name for the sound I am looking for, i suppose that's the best way to start searching.....

but thanks for the "future garage" links, i'll definitely give them a listen.

both nice tunes, but not what I was looking for ... the first reminds me of as you say "bass music" and the second although using a classic sample, is just a bit weak .. when i say weak, i'm looking for that soulful vibe like:-

Rosie Gains - Closer than close
    SFA - Flowers
    B15 - Girls like this

I know they are all old and had some commercial success, but this is what I would call UK Garage or 2-step ...

    any thoughts?
