My TMA-1 just turned up, what a thing of beauty! So comfy and the sound quality and isolation is second none!

Can't go far wrong with these!

i owned some beats for a year and they arnt as bad as you may think from all the people rubbishing them ALL the time, not for dj use but for general listening they are really good. the isolation is pretty amazing compared to the hd 25 adidas ones i got last week.

to be honest i was dissapointed with the hd 25's the bass from the beats are wicked. i no for djing i needed the hd 25 so that is the reason i changed the beats.

True. A friend of mine has them and the cord always gets messed up and the headband snapped.

r u looking to produce music as well?..

Even if your not.. I find the HD-25s and the TMA versions too small.... they don't cup your ear. For me this means that after 25mins my ears hurt. I've bought a bunch of phones over the years, but have returned every one I purchased except for the 15year old Sony MDR-7506.. use them in the club and to produce... they aren't perfect, but they have withstood the abuse for 15 years... only had to replace the ear pads. They are still sold and are in your price range.

Well I own AKG K518 LE's, their alright to be fair, but only for a first set of headphones. Done me well for 2 years!

But personal preference, in your price range (assuming its £££):
    - Senheisser HD25 II
    - Pioneer HDJ-500 (Close 2nd)
    - 2011 13" MBP | Akai LPD8 | KRK MP5's | iPhone 4 TouchOSC Custom Map -
    - Traktor Duo 2 | Traktor Kontrol X1 | NI Audio 2 -

I own AKG K518DJ, they are not allright, maybe only good for mp3 player.
These that I own, one cup has a different bass than the other. So, you can imagine my confusion when I thought that my hearing is damaged, and later on when I actually turned the hphs around and realized what's happening.

Isolation is so-so and when exposed to just a better-equipped-caffe sound levels, everything gets muddy on low levels.
Build quality is great tho, havent managed to break these for 5 years now. They did start to crack at one place on the headband but that does not seem to spread not affect the grip. You could really call them broken-in now, hehe.

Since HD25 are overpriced, why do people pay extra for Adidas HD25?

I've owned the AIAIAI TMA-1's. They were really nice honestly. The didn't live through my dog being a puppy however, and while I still have pieces and plan on trying to do a mod thing with an old telephone at some point, they are doneso now.

A buddy of mine has the Xone-53's, and those will probably be my next headphone purchase however. They are a bit bassier than the TMA's, and fit over your whole ear (which I've found I prefer).

I didn't like the Pioneer 1000's (another buddy has them). He's only had them for a year, but the joints are already starting to split. The sound is decent on them, but doesn't compare to the two listed above either. I'd love a pair of the 2000's, but can't justify spending over $200 on a set of cans.

I've tried the HD-25's and they were too small for me. Just saying, they are optimal for people whom have small skulls. I'm sure they are great, but that tightness level wouldn't fly for a long period of time for me.

If you want on ears, I'd suggest the TMA-1's. If you want over ears, I'd suggest the Xone-53's.
