Default My mates CDJs are anti SSL.

Im currently at my friends where his CDJs are currently freaking out.
Will play all audio CDs, and MP3 burned CDs

But the second i put my SSL timecode CD in or his Traktor timecode, it spits it back out.

    Using CDJ800mk2's.
    Help?!

    First thing i tried.

Been searching for ways to re-flash it but nothings came up from google.

Its the fact timecode works in one and not the other, so theres no issues with compatibility

    but seriously, that's weird.

I do recall you needing some kind of specific CD burner program to set the CD so that if it plays to the end of the track, it would go into internal mode. (I'm paraphrasing... I vaguely remember conversation like that around here very recently)

So, are they original timecode CDs, or are they by chance copies that could be incorrectly formatted? (i mean... not that the CD player should care, its more of a software thing, but you never know)

Yes, you need a special program to re-burn timecode CDs, that was my next step but not filling this comp with junk.
Yes they all are original timecoded CDs, straight from the box. Pair of us have had the audio interfaces since new as well.

Sounds like it's squarely a problem with the CDJ then. Maybe re-install the firmware?

Firmware issue, one of the CDJs was v1.00 and the other was 1.20

2.10 firmware was released in 2008.

EDIT: firmware updated, cdj is still refusing the ssl disc, currently writing to pioneer on the subject.

I had the same error the other day on a pair of 850's when using burned CD's, they worked just fine with the factory CD's. You can download the timecode track from Serato. Try using a burn CD and see if it works?
