Small house party set-up question
I'm gonna' be playing at a friend’s house party. It's in his basement and it'll fit 45 people. I have a pair of rokit 5's, but I doubt they'll be loud enough. Can you guys recommend speakers that wont overkill? Also, I have an audio 6 soundcard if that matters.
Thanks.

Guitar center has this pa system on sale for $150, I'm sure they're probably pretty crappy, but for $150, they seem like decent speakers for a low key house party.

^ hell no
For a small party, the top 3 budget pa speakers are Behringer Eurolive, Mackie Thump, and JBL Eon (the latter being the most expensive). Plenty of good deals are to had on craigslist and ebay for all three.
For connecting it to the Audio 6, pick up 2 of these: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Your-Cable-Store-Foot-Male/dp/B002P9Q7I8/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1322969215&sr=8-14"]Amazon.com: Your Cable Store 12 Foot XLR 3 Pin Male To RCA Male Cable: Musical Instruments@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31vi8jihDgL.@@AMEPARAM@@31vi8jihDgL[/ame]

Do those speakers have good quality? I'm most likely going to be renting the speakers instead of buying them, so I guess I could go for some expensive ones?
Also, I’m not sure what a subwoofer is. Will I need one?
Thanks.

Brilliant... That just raised the bar for all of us my friend.
Apologies to the OP for the derail.
