Okay so its between these two headphones, the Sony MDR-V6 $70, or Technics RPF550, now when it comes to headphones does driver size, ohms, and frequency rate make a difference? here are the links to the headphones!

Sony's for sure, they sound mega, lots of volume and so durable they will probably outlast your Dj career
AFIK the only Technics headphones that are halfway decent are the RPDJ-1200 series (not the DH's) and they still don't sound as good as the V6's.. they'd set you back around $120 anyhow.
Judging from the photo's of the Technics ones you posted I estimate broken hinges in ... 1,2 maybe 3 gigs
