If your looking for bass heavy headphones for DJing, think that the HD25's are too flimsy and the HDJ's are a bit out your price point (me)
you can pick these up for about £120 now, and they are AMAZING
V-MODA Crossfade LP's, if you break emin the first year, free replacement, break them after that, trade them in for half price off a new pair.

I don't see why you'd want "bass heavy" headphones, wouldn't you want a fairly flat frequency reproduction?

Have you ever had monitor speakers centimetres from your head all wired wrong so you cant adjust the volume, first gig i ever did i had cheapy AKG headphones, which were good for pubs etc, but i couldnt hear anything over these speakers, bought HDJ500's for my next stint in there and they were a LOT better. Played in another venue not too long ago where the setup was even worse, and i just used the residents headphones (the V-MODA's) and they were brilliant.

Thats my style though, i beatmatch on the headphones and mix on the monitors.

Ive been using the Allen and Heath XD 53 for over 2 years now. Still in great condition, they look awesome, and sound great. Check them out for sure...

The other resident at the club I DJ at is sponsored by Beats Pro. He gave me one of those, a Red one, for free. Guess what? I still use my Denon HP500's. I can hear my all freq better with them and able to adjust EQ pre-fade. On the Beats Pro, it seems they have more lows. So I tend to adjust bass down unnecessarily at pre-fade. Lousy for DJ'ing. Great for just listening to music.
