Depending on what screen-type it is it's likely that the manufacturer included a method to prevent screen burn-in (like rotating the picture slightly).

Still that thing would drive me crazy if I was him.

Yeah I am not sure that he is but one of the rules is:

- For each hour of the performance, 5 minutes rest time is earned and this time can accumulate.

If it was me I would accumulate the time and at least try to sleep for a few hours a day.

Nah he hasn't done that. that would mean he would let a song loop for 2 hours while he slept and theres no way people would let that fly.
