At the end of the night I do. That way they like you and remember and get you more gigs at the bar so you become a regular. $20 at the end of the night can = a lot of gigs later on, and also hook ups for friends, or just hook ups when you show up.

a gay audience is a demanding audience;

they will want some hot club tunes and some cheesey pop the trick is getting it all in the right order......

If you only play house it will bomb, think of it as a party night and be ready to play some thumping dance anthems and commercial music together in the same set.

Dropping some tunes from the DJs from Mars back catalogue would be a safe bet.

This...........used to resident at several gay clubs here in Vegas, tough crowd, and you're gonna play stuff you dont want to. But I was able to throw a little house every now and then.......once you master the gay clubs you can play anywhere.......its worth the experience. And dont worry about getting hit on, they'll know you're not gay........oh and free drinks!

Gay couples too, not just single blokes.. Its obviously being done for a laugh or to see your reaction so treat it as such...

As you say folk know your straight or not, and there have been many insane and funny conversations struck up during these "encounters"
To me, i think it adds to the experience of the night, all good fun. I dont threaten their sexuality or they mine, i'm secure enough on that front, ta very much!

An aside, i've noticed less crowd trouble too in gay bars or clubs..

Oh and by the way, i aint no Brad Pitt look alike by any stretch of the imagination, so thats how i KNOW its a piss take
