    Default Getting started

    Hey.
I was on a NYE Party and hung out with the DJ. He was my friends Cousin so he kinda allowed me to touch his stuff and even DJ a little bit when he was dancing or grabbing a beer.
He explained little but I remember it beeing lots of fun.
So I went to buy a ION iCUE with the leftover money from Christmas and a VirtualDJ pro license.
My Music collection isn't too big and I don't have much leftover money (60€~).

    What do I do now?
    How can I get started?
Which Techniques do I need to learn?
When will I approxemately have my first gig?
When am I ready for a gig?
How did you start and what did you do first?

Answering these Questions would really help me

    Edit: found the FAQ thread.
Answering my questions would still be really cool. Especially the last one.

At first, organize the music you want to use for DJing. Without a well organized music librabry you won't be able to find anything you want to play. When you have a clear view on the music you can play, just start playing around with it

    Learn to mix tracks properly?

It depends on how much you want it to happen. It's all about marketing yourself.

That's something only you yourself can say.

I started with organizing my music library from scratch, and then just practicing with it. Simple as that.
