Minimal Mix Train #1

We've never done a minimal train so lets have a crack at it. Four DJ's with 30 minute slots. You have one week to get your slot done before it's given to the next guy. PM me your email address and I'll invite you to the dropbox.

Hmm, pencil me in. Got any examples of what you're classifying as minimal so we can put this in ink ?

I think we leave it open to interpretation. My minimal will probably be of the techno variety, but if you want to do more of a minimal house set than go for it. Should be interesting in the end.

The first DJ does 30 minutes and uploads the wav file to the dropbox. The next DJ cuts the last couple of minutes or off and mixes into it. When they've got their 30 minutes done they paste it back onto the original and upload what's now and hour long wav into the dropbox. The process is repeated until we're done.

A little more detail on how it works

Basically what you do is record a 30 minute mix of techno/tech house. It's a good idea to have the last minute or so be something the next DJ can mix into. If you're next in line though try not to cut off or alter the previous DJ's set before that final minute.

When you're done with your mix save it as a wav file and upload it to the drop box (PM me your email for invite) The next DJ downloads the mix and cuts off the last minute or so to mix into. When you're done paste your 30 minute set back onto the end of the set you cut the last little bit off. Upload that hour long set (if there's only one DJ before you) to the drop box and let the next guy know it's there.

You can post your track list and song keys, but please don't post your mix before hand or any other parts until the whole train is completed.

WATCH YOUR LEVELS. We can boost low volume, but we can't fix clipping. After everybody is done I'll level the whole mix and save as a 320K mp3.

You have one week (7 days) to get your mix done and uploaded. If you can't get it done in that amount of time we'll either put a reserve in your spot or move the next guy up to your spot. It's only 30 minutes folks so it shouldn't be to hard to get done in a week. If you don't think you can get that done then please say so now.
