this thing is pretty fun, the depth of the sounds are pretty f'n good. im using this with my volca sample, which has been loads of fun.

Well done! That price is insane for what you get! Haven't had much of an opportunity to dig too much into it yet, but I love the sequencer and p-locks and sequencing other instruments via MIDI isn't really as bad as I'd thought.

same here, i've dug into it a little bit to play around with the LFO settings and came out with this techy loop

    https://soundcloud.com/johnnystress/machine-drum-loop

i havn't really figured out the song settings yet, but i've been loading vocal and synth samples into my volca sample and using it in tandem with the MD. This thing is so packed with value, i kind of want to pick up an octatrack and see what kind of power that piece can give me.

how are you using your MD? plans on doing a live set with it?

I'm still exploring it, but it's hella deep. I played with sequencing my Sub37 and MS-20 Mini last night, along with my TR-8. Didn't mess with P-Locking the MIDI CCs or anything. The LFOs really provide a lot of functionality along with the P-locks. I don't know if the non-UW version has CTR-AL or CTR-8/Rev/Del, etc. but those are a ton of fun as well. Great way to really tweak with the effect settings or just parameter settings for all or some of the items. Re-sampling a loop is insanely cool as well, although that's not available on the non-UW version. Just playing with the different machines right now, but the GND-SN is great to add melodic stuff.

I have two plans for it - one as a standard drum machine and recording into my DAW, then processing there - that's on one global setting. Another is to use it as my main sequencing brain and do all hardware jams in my studio.

I don't really play out live - I know a few cats that do. Maybe at some point I'll give it a try, but I need to get way more familiar with this and everything it can do before that's an option. This is really an ideal box to just solo out in a live environment though. Add a nice, little synth or sampler to jam along and that's all you'd really need. I'd be a lot quicker on my turntabes.
