yes
I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.
No
Honestly it'd be nice but not essential.
It's not the gear. It's how you use it.
limitations are the source of creativity.
If you don't practice you don't want it.

You dont NEED a macbook pro, but they are certianly elite for a reason
You could buy a laptop with twice the specs and spent the same amount of money but a shitload more time optimizing it and worrying if its going to be stable.
Not essential, but industry standard for a reason bro.

No. But it's all up to you, do you want to be jizzing in your pants when you boot it up for the first time or do you wanna be like "Meh." ? Do you want the industry standard (as previously mentioned) or something labeled as "budget" ? And last but not least when you take your laptop to school/work who do you want swarming around you ? Girls admiring the amazing design and light up apple or computer geeks asking questions about memory and write speed of your HDD ?
Like I said, it's all up to you.
-Sincerely a MBP user.
No.
And it seems like ur issue is weather or not to save up and get a MBP or a cheaper windows based machine and the new NI controller. I think u get more bang for ur buck doing the latter. Ya Mac's are nice this is true, but if u have any basic computer knowledge optimizing and keeping a windows based machine stable for running traktor isn't as daunting as you may think. And i think that option would be more cost effective for u since u seem to be on a budget.
i've been to shows where Macs have crashed. so they are not invincible.
i had a dell xps and never had a problem with it. it all depends on the user. i no longer have the dell as i have upgraded .
i got my Asus k53 w/ i7 quadcore 8gb of ram, and +$140 for a 128gb SSD all for about $900. vs $1700 for a Mac with the same specs w/o an ssd. all i keep on it is traktor/reason/presonus studio one. i have not had a problem with it.
specs of an MBP are not worth the price you will pay. get the best you can with the money you have. and don't download anything that isn't pertinent. or find/write a script to have your PC run smoother for Dj'ing or research how OS's work and install a different OS
smelling a mac vs pc thing here..
