    Default WarpNote DJ setup

Went to IKEA yesterday, finally have room for most bits:
    - Serato Scratch Live + Ableton = The Bridge, on a "Penryn" MacBook Pro 15"
    - APC 20, controlling the Bridge
    - 2x Technics 1210Mk2
    - 2x Pioneer CDJ1000MK3
    - Rane Sixty Eight
    - Dell Mini 10V Hackintosh running the effect loop into Ableton back to the Rane mixer USB 5 insert.
(Enables post fader VST for fx any source on the mixer)
    - Novation Dicers (not connected to the mbp at the time of shooting, I need a new USB hub)
    - Traktor X1 (been playing around with Traktor lately...) (not connected to the mbp at the time of shooting, I need a new USB hub)
    - Denon HC1000s (not connected to the mbp at the time of shooting, I need a new USB hub)

    Things to add:
    - USB hub.
    - Make room for an external display for Mix Emergency video output.
    - Make room for Akai MPD 24.
    - Make room for KRK ROKIT 6 monitors.

History: (Will try to look for some long lost images...)

    In the 90's
Tech 1210 (same decks I own today).
    crappy numark 3 channel mixer
    regular vinyl.

    In the 00's
XP computer running Scratch Live on the SL1 box,
    MPD 24,
upgraded the mixer for a Pioneer DJM-600,
    HC1000s,
Switched computer for a Macbook Pro, still running it,
Dell mini 10v hackintosh as a backup.

    2011
Upgraded the mixer for the Rane Sixty Eight,
    Pio CDJ1000mk3,
    DJM400 as a backup mixer,
SL4 for use in the club,
    Ableton Live + APC20,
    Inklen Mix Emergency.

Love that setup, the 68 is such a great mixer. Do you take some kind of controller out with you to fulfil the function of the midi controls on the 68? Cue points etc?

I use the Dicers at home in addition to the 68. If I bring the 68 to a club,
I'll leave the other midi controllers at home. The 68 has me well covered.
Look at it this way: Dicers have very smooth action, great for "bashing",
but the 68 has better placement of the cuepoint buttons IMO.

However, a lot of my venues have permanent install mixers,
in those cases I either bring the Denon HC1000s or the Dicers with the SL4.
Mostly use the HC1000s out though, less cables, quicker setup, more native functions in SSL.

I don't use ableton/the bridge while playing out, ...yet.
