Default S4 won't connect with Traktor, USB light solidly lit

Alright so I bought an S4 from another forum member on here.

I'm kind of a traktor noob so this may be really easy to fix. I installed the drivers for the S4 and then opened Traktor and plugged it in. It flashed all the lights and the USB light went from blinking to solid. Now after plugging it in the USB light just sits there with a solid light but I can't get Traktor to connect to the controller.

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this?

    Thanks!

I tried switching USB cables and reinstalling the software. I don't know if this would make a difference but I don't have the service center or controller editor installed.

You need service center to get all the driver and software updates. Install them. Then turn on S4 before starting Traktor.

Then go to help at top left find the manual and read it. It will answer 98% of your questions.

So let's say I don't have an "updated" version of Traktor I can't use the S4? Does the controller not output MIDI commands unless the service center is working?

What version are you using, and why wouldn't you want the updates?

Unless you are using pirated software in which case I'll stop attempting to help.

Fixed it by installing the NI Controller Editor from their site !
