Default punkpc aka DJ K9's Setup

    History
What I have pics of and a few missing pieces of gear here and there.

I started DJing back in 1995. I started out with 2 very one Gemini Turntables and a old Gemini Mixer.

Don't have pics of the Setup but I held on to the old mixer to remember where I started.

    This is it here...

A few years after I bought some 1200's and a Numark mixer.

    [Missing Picture here]

    (2000)
    Several different mixers later I ended up with a Vestax PMC-17a and I added a 3rd 1200 and a CDJ-500.

    (2001)
Traded in my 1200 and got a pair of 1210's with a Gemini UMX-9 and also bought a pair of Vestax PDX-2000 and a Stanton SK-2.

    Started using the PDX-2000's more

    Lonely 1200's

    (2002)

Was working on more Turntablism routines (See Stop watch... hehe)
There is also a Technic SHDJ-1200 DMC mixer under table. There is also a CDJ-100s to the side

2nd setup for other Scratch DJ. Vestax PDX-A2s Stanton SK-6 (With Focus Fader) and a crappy Stanton Turntable. There is also a PMC-05pro and a SK-2F under the table. Best to be prepared for anything at a DJ battle

All 3 rigs in a row...

My Friends Rig (He couldn't DJ in his apartment)

    My First Production Studio

The only pic I could find of me using Final Scratch 1.0

I tried out the Numark TTX-1's but shortly went back to PDX-2000's

    (2004)

My last recording Studio. Had to sell it all when I got divorced. Needed the money

    (2006)

    Picked up a Tascam XS-8

    [Missing Picture here]

Also sold mt CDJ-100S's and picked up a CDJ-1000.

Only pic I could find of me using it...
This was on 03-03-2007 at the last show I played before I quit.

I quit DJing shortly after 2007 while I was bouncing around recovering from my Divorce. Plus after the Rave Act there really wasn't any place to play around here.

But around 2011 I saw the Midi Fighter posted on a arcade fighter forum (I'm big into Street Fighter and make custom arcade sticks) and saw what people like Ean were doing with Traktor and knew it was time to return...

    2012

Ok so here is my Current setup as of February. It's a work in progress till I find out what works for me. Just picked this stuff up last month.

    S2 w/DJTT Mapping
    Launchpad w/ my custom mapping
Midi Fighter w/Deckalized + Instant Gratification
Reloop Contour w/my custom mapping (Still working on)
    Tascam XS-8
    PDX-2000

Thinking I should have bought a S4 and Scratch upgrade instead to consolidate my setup... Might be adding in near future.

Seems like you don't mess around when it comes to production.

Well it helps that I worked for Guitar Center, Mars Music, and Sam Ash over the years. Plus DJing was paying good back then. Oh and I ate Ramen Noodles A LOT!

Sad part is you can do every sound in that studio now with just a Laptop and some software.

Starting around 2002 is that a Pioneer DMP 555?

If so, that was a strange bird. A little a head of its time, that one.
