oh no!
I have been waiting for iMessages on the Mac every since it came out for the iPhone.
I haven't been home to install it yet, but I hope I can sign out or turn it off. I don't want to get a whole bunch of txt's on my screen during my sets. lol
ahah.
You can turn iMessage off, its just an app that you launch. The beta is available now on the Mountain Lion page. Ive installed it, syncs to your Contact list.
Its Notification Center that you want to be able to turn off. Im sure you will be able to. That would get really annoying very quickly.
I went to install it, but it is not supported on 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)
I have not upgraded to Lion (been hesitant) because everything has run so smoothly. I don't want to upgrade and something go wrong.
Agreed. It looks like an iOS-looking clone of Growl. I have several apps that use Growl notification…none of them have Growl support enabled because it's a huge PITA.
If it's configurable enough, though, I could see using it while DJing. Traktor (and maybe other stuff) can be set up to tweet your track list while you're spinning. Having that happening and getting feedback at the same time would be cool while broadcasting…probably not in a club, though.
I mean…I stole it from Ritchie Hawtin.
Still an awesome idea, though.
Besides, "I only accept requests through twitter" works a lot better than "go away," and you get more twitter followers out of it…which makes it easier to sell yourself. And if their ideas don't suck, you've got a list of tracks you can look into buying for your next gig…right there.
