a dj, just as well as a "normal" instrumentalists, you need a basic feeling of rhythm, which of course can be expressed in body language ;-)
if you call it dancin' or not doesn't really matter.. i'm starting out as a dj, cause when i hear good music of a special kind, i just have to move..

I love to dance, but I dj alot because I know I'm not great at dancing. Always doing my thing behind the laptop though. can't be a robot dj unless your daft punk of course.

I hate to post ads but NZ has some good ones atm. I'm like the 4th best dancer as described here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHQUBVdrJLU

I still go out to clubs with the express intent of dancing. Especially being I'm in a happy relationship, I have a lot less pressure.

Hell, I rarely drink these days. I just show up and rock the fuck out.

Can't know what makes people move if you don't know what moves you.

Yea this is similar with me being in a relationship, although I still drink a bit, and still dance badly lol.

Excellent question, I always think about this. Also I must confess that I was re-reading a book called Djing for dummies (aka djing for alien2k ) and I read the following on page 139:

"I remember one night when Alex P did a guest
spot at a club I had a residency at, and the other
DJ (Dave Armstrong) and I were left wandering
through the club, feeling a bit bored whilst waiting
for him to finish (because remember, DJs
    don’t dance)."

To be honest I felt quite dissapointed with this quote about Djs not dancing. I bealive as a dj I was born on the dance floor and that is why I know what to do to keep it going. I think that all djs should dance and absorve the enrgy and learn from being on the other side.
Here is a good example, this is a video of Ricardo Villalobos dancing at fabric

Very cool responses!! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear.. Now you've all got me fired up, I might have to take off work tonight without notice so I can go break it down tonight.
    Thanks ;-j
