    Default Just received my Maschine

Hey guys, Maschine arrived at the most unfortunate time possible, just a few days before my final exams. I actually only toyed around with it for about an hour then gave it to a friend until sunday to make sure I actually study lol. This is my first experience with a groovebox and while initially it was confusing, I had a really good understanding of it within the hour. I'm excited to get more time with it I can already tell with enough time put into it I'll really be able to move on the fly. For anyone else that is intimidated by Ableton (like I was) this may be the best place to start and then migrate over to Ableton or just stick with Maschine.

I am really new to electronic music but have been looking at the maschine for a while now and am very interested in it. Will i need anything more than the maschine itself, computer and amp to work it?

A soundcard, you could use the one built into your pc but its not ideal.

Yeah, the Akai mpc's are "hardware only". Have a look at this one (the mpc 40) a dedicated Ableton live controller, just hit the streets:

Yep, Akai MPCs are great! Here's a great vid demonstrating the possibilities, hopefully the Maschine's larger feature set will help churn out crazier stuff than this:
