this is a high-profile, swanky spot where celebrities are known to hang out-no place for amateurs
Yet they are looking blindly for a DJ on Reddit. Sounds pretty amateurish to me even if it is a nice gesture to the DJ community.

    Anyone on here applied ?

It's an amateur gig, that's why. It's not really a "club" so to say. Just a bar, so really any kid with virtual DJ and a few months of serious practice could do as good of a job as the next guy

There's several "big" clubs in the city, and after that, a metric shit-ton of smaller bars/lounges. As for Reddit, it's one of the worlds most popular time wasting web sites. Chances are, if you've seen a viral video on the internet, Reddit was one of the first couple of places it was posted... which sort of leads me to another point. I guess even if that was a large club, that might not be the worst idea. Granted, using other methods (facebook, etc) would be a bit more to the point, posting on Reddit would definitely get the word out to the right people in time, and possibly open up promotional channels in a different way.
