scratching w/ vci100 and traktor 3.3

anyone notice how when trying to scratch in traktor 3.3 that when you move the jog wheel forward it moves the track easy but when trying to go in reverse it only moves the track back at about half the distance?? is this a common thing or just me? i have watched several scratch videos on youtube with people cuttin it up using just the jog wheels on the vci, however when i try to "hold" a spot in the track to scratch, it inches forward almost twice as much than when you move the jog wheel back, making it almost impossible to scratch. any theories?
