Default Speaker Cable Fix - Seems Simple

So my friend has a pair of Harmon Kardon Soundsticks that he gave me and the 1/8" cable that you would connect to your computer is broken (as shown in the picture, broken one is to the right) now is there any way I can get a replacement cable because it seems like I can open up the subwoofer bottom and unplug that pin (as shown in other picture) and connect a new cable....or do you think stripping the broken connection cable and then soldering a new 1/8" cable would work?

any feedback is appreciated thank you

You shouldn't have a problem with soldering in an identical cable or nerdy surgery to attach a new head to the existing cable.
