Default VDJ 8 just teased on Digital DJ Tips

Apparently it's only 60% finished but has some pretty awesome features, and people waiting for "the one" will love the timeline remix capabilities

    sampler editing window

detatchable effects from the skin, with multi screen support

    adjustable eq frequency

colored scratch wave (although it's still a little ugly in those colors...)

they said on the vdj forum that the skin hasn't yet been designed, they were using the vdj 7 one just to show the new features they have been working on...

Can't lie - VDJ 8 is big news for me. I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to it. It's the only reason I haven't bought TSP2 yet...

Why can't they make it look more professional
Check out the community over at VDJ. A LOT of those guys are professionals, earning a living with VDJ. It may not look like the greatest app out there, but the guys that are using it know that it is extremely powerful.

(That's not to say I'M not hoping for a vastly improved GUI!!! )

each to their own i suppose, i started out on 7 and just didnt get on with it, it just didnt feel right using it. and why bother making the fx detachable to use on another screen, would it not be a bit better to make the library detachable, but still, for anyone playing out this feature would hardly be used .. christ i carry enough theres not a hope in hell im lugging a second screen around

you don't have to use the effects on a different screen, you can however expand the effects and lock them to an individual tab next to the browser from the pictures... imagine having 4 effects running with advanced options on each deck, but I think that would be a good feature to customize a different skin with lots of space to utilize... It will also probably be possible to send the effects to an ipad as the second screen (pure speculation), can't deny that would be handy for some effect whores out there...

I should also point out it is already possible to use the browser on a seperate pannel or screen in VDJ7, just check out djdads "virtual touch" skins...

they really need to ditch the black UI. it is one of the main reasons it makes the impression of a cheap toy imo.

It's 'professional' look is in the eye of the beholder. It looks different than it's counterparts, but I don't think by any means does it look unprofessional.

Also, much like it's predecessor, I'm sure there will be many other skinning options available, which it's competitors don't have the option of.
    Cheers!
