    Default Glowing LED USB Cables?

Just wondering if anyone has used the glowing USB cables before with their controllers? I've heard that they lack adequate shielding which can cause some interruptions if the cord happens to pickup interference.

They look pretty cool, especially in a dark room. But if performance is an issue, I suppose it's a no go.

yup, plus they draw power from the USB port, so I wouldnt risk 1% of my usb power on a led that has no real use besides eye candy. if thats the case look at getting a ATA case that uses LEDs.

There was a thread about it here before ..

Basically: Look cool / Don't work for DJ's was the consensus.

If you want glowing, spray them fluorescent and bring a small backlight (like for checking banknotes).

these look kinda cool. I was looking at their SATA cables. I might grab a few when I start building my Hackintosh.

I find that when a controller needs more power, the LED cable just stays unlit so the power goes to the controller. But its only happened on one thing (vestax padone)
those are the same cables that i had, i guess you were just lucky, i honestly got nothing but dropouts and occasionally all died all together as my soundcard literally shut off

nearly lost a gig over them

I have a few of these - can't say there is any difference at all compared to plain cables. Jesc's concern about losing even 1% of bus power is the only thing that would make me think twice.
