Most audio editors have a spectrum view available, which is much better for associating sounds visually. What are you trying to do?

I basically use audacity to chop up mp3s into smaller sample clips. It would be alot easier if i could get s rough sense of the type of sound im looking at. Nothing fancy.. Just a rough idea like traktors colors provide.

Ive looked at audacitys spectrum view and it seems more confusing than what i need.. Is there a simplified type of spec analysis that would look closer to a waveform that u know of?

I luv audacitys simplicity but i just wish i could quickly gauge the type of sound im looking at.

    Thnx man

Sorry, no. There wouldn't be a need to implement anything like that into an audio editor, so I don't imagine it's a very common feature.
