Hey guys,
So after about 8 months of playing house parties and blowing the roof off, I've networked a bit, shook some hands, and finally got my first club gig! I'm psyched as hell and feel confident in my abilities, however there are a few technical things I've never encountered before, and I want to make sure the issues will be mitigated with some thorough prior knowledge.
The club provides a DJM800 and 2 Pio CDJ1000MK2s. I use Traktor Scratch Duo 2 with an Audio 6 and 2 Numark NDX400s. I also have an LPD8 to control looping/FX/cue points. This will be my first time using authentic CDJs, and I was wondering if there would be any major differences/hurdles between using NDX400s and CDJ1000s, namely platter control, pitch percentage, and other basic functions. I don't plan on utilizing any of the other features like the loop function or the vinyl stop/start, as I plan on doing most of that in Traktor. I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly, hence the thread) that the Pioneers will basically be larger versions of the NDXs, and as such am planning to approach them the same way. I am aware that the MK2s do not have MP3 support, so I have burned my set to CDs as a backup in case something goes amiss. Do I have all my bases covered or is there something critical I forgot and need to know?
