Creating an instrumental
Does anyone know how to turn an original song (hip hop in this case) to just the instrumental without the acapella? It is for a live performance and the producer doesnt have enough time to send me the instrumentals.

do you have the instrumental and the acapella? in this case you can use phase inversion, but the result will probably be kinda crappy..

that's going to be nigh on impossible to do and if you want the result to sound at all listenable, especially if you have no experience. If you know the producer, just bug them for the instrumental.

Ask the producer for the instrumental or recreate it. Most of the other methods are just not worth the effort for the results you will get.

If there are many parts in the song where the vocal is not active, you can use this parts to make an instrumental, but for Hip Hop this is kinda hard because the rappers always rap the entire song, what you can do but takes a little bit more work and some producings skills is go to www.whosampled.com and find out what the original track is that is used in the Hip Hop track (Since 90 %) of hip hop is sampled from other songs, then when this works out for you you can sample the orginal for your self make a beat for yourself an do what ever you want to do with it for yourself;-)
So about wich track are we talkin anyway?
