Default What camcorder for recording DJ Set?

Anyone have any experience with taking video of they're dj set? What kind of camera are you using?

I'm looking for something under $200 US that can take decent video for about an hour and that can accept a line input so I dont have to rely on the camera's mic.

Anyone have any recommendations or suggestions?

    Camcorder? Nah!

I use a combination of a webcam and an audio interface. When recording I capture video from the webcam and the audio from the soundcard (which is hooked up to my mixer's record output)

Or you could record sound and video separately.

For video, why wouldn't you buy a GoPro ? POV videos of DJing are incredible.

    This is truely awesome.
Of course, this is not a good idea to have it on your head for the whole party, but you can get rid of it and place it somewhere else after 5 mins or so.

PS : i'm not sure how good is the quality in dark areas, be sure to check that out before buying one.

I'm trying to find a solution that wont tax my laptops resources. I tried a webcam once while running reason and I dont think my comp had the muscle to do both at the same time.

those go pro cam's seem cool but you for my application they're too much. You can get a Sony Bloggie touch wich is very similar without being ruggedized for about 130 on amazon. That seems to be a decent solution but I would have to record audio with my comp while I mix and then edit the video from the bloggie with the audio.

Anyone know if theres a way to get a line input on a ipod touch?

If you're going to take it this seriously, I'd probably go to a video forum for advice. Would you ask DJ advice on a A/V forum?

Because recording a mix isn't exactly complex.

Do you have a second computer? I don't record with my DJ laptop.
