Default Business Cards? To use or not to use!

    Hi DJTT people.

I've got a gig coming up at a local festival (Crookfest for those in the North East) and was wondering whether or not to get some business cards made up? These would mainly have my Facebook page, logo and e-mail address on.

Does anybody use these and does anyone have any advice whether or not I should or if this would be kinda tool-ish?

    Thanks as always!

You don't have to go out of your way to dish out business cards. But if you make a connection, wouldn't you rather give them a printed card than write your info down on a napkin? :P

yeah but stickers aren't very professional.

It all depends on who your giving them too. If your just talking about handing out to random members of the public then yeah stickers or flyers or some other fun wee prop is fine.

But if your meaning on a professional level, where you meet a promoter or event organiser or whatever, someone who may give you some work, then business cards all the way. Something fairly plain and understated works well, looks professional, or there are lots of very trendy ones made from metal or other weird things that make you stand out.

However there is a middle ground between the plain professional ones and the super cool ones, where people try to use lots of colour and graphics and things, where its all very basic and looks like they've just stuck a pile of microsoft cliparts onto a page, and it just looks a bit try hard. Its a fine balance.

Stickers for the younger, business cards for any inquiries. So many occasions people have come up and asked for my card and I was glad that I had some made

i take that as a compliment

i´d say it highly depends on the scene if to hand out a card or a sticker. but i guess the card is more appropriate in you´re scene. ask me if i´d rather get a sticker or a card when i´m in the fourties and i can assure you what my answer will be but i guess that´s just me ...
