Akai MFC42 is used in studios by many of the big guys just hard to find now... Saw one the other day go for 500 but I had already bought so much other gear

and regarding effects pedals if its a stereo pedal you will still get stereo (I know that seems obvious but some prob think every pedal is mono) I use a Boss DD-7 alongside a Soundbite XL with my Xone 92

ya that was a steal I just got the Electrix Pro Filter Factory for my studio setup but the filter is sick on it and the buzz features gives a nice warm sound to my synths got it for 150 but i can see people using it while DJing

I'm in this leaky, swaying boat as well. Using an Empath and Empath Rotary - had them both for a couple of years now - and still to try out the FlexFX.

Not entirely convinced by the Rodec ReStyler (http://www.rodec.com/productdetails.php?code=74). Sick bit of kit, but almost a little on the gimmicky side?

Until such time I can afford a 4100, 5000 and 3500 (http://www.alpharecordingsystem.com/) looks like I'll be settling on a Vermna AFIII (http://www.vermona.com/index.php/en_actionfilter3.html).

I suppose the Pioneer EFX-1000 (http://www.pioneerdjusa.com/gear.aspx?product=EFX-1000) may be an option as well. Beyond all the effects there is an isolator/filter in there somewhere, having seen vids on YouTube. On wicked thing about this unit? You can assign any processing specifically to the frequency band (if you want to loop or break the top end but leave the bass untouched? Done).

The only other piece of kit I'd consider is a Moog 500 Ladder (http://www.moogmusic.com/products/50...-ladder-filter): a set of four so I could independently effect each channel AND master out.
