    Default Midi controllers and Laptop

    Hi,

I am having endless problems with getting my Denon 1200's running as midi controllers in Traktor Pro. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and have tried using the ASIO driver - which didn't work, and the Midi OX and Midi Yoke progs - this did work but keeps freezing both the deck and Traktor Pro.

If anyone has some idea on how to get my components working together please let me know.

    Thanks...

I can't imagine that theres a windows 7 64 driver out yet for those decks.

Yup the bane of using the latest OS's, lack of support. May I suggest creating a 2nd boot of perhaps XP for DJing?

    Isn't Windows magical...

guess will just have to wait for a new ASIO driver or something similar.

I can say that when it does work in Windows 7 it works damn well so I would recommend that everyone keep an eye out for the new OS as it looks to be a good one.

    Later, thanks for the feedback...

    It's not window's fault.

You're using a beta/Release candidate. It's not even an official consumer product yet. No one to blame for that problem. heh.

I don't think many folks would suggest using a beta product for music. =^P

Windows 7 does rock though. I've installed x64 for everyday use. I've run the DPC latency checker on it, and the results are a lot better than Vista. The 1500 spikes I was getting every 10 seconds are now 750. Can't wait.

That's like saying getting shot in the stomach is better than in the face. Still sucks. XP sp2 was the last good thing, and still is a better thing than vista and 7.

    Anything but my beautiful face!

Yeah, unfortunately my lappy came with Vista and I wasn't going to pay for the downgrade.

The last good OS was AmigaOS. Fact.

Yeah, I agree... XP SP2 was the last good thing cause everything worked on it. I'm pretty sure though that once the Denon and Win7 and all other Midi controllers become easily compatible we will have some different opinions. Using beta software is never recommended but then there would never be any progress, would there

Guess it's just up to the pioneering few to figure it out so everyone else can benefit.

Still going to keep working on it and will see what I come up with...
