Default What makes an amazing mix?

    Hi,
I've been DJing for a while now and I'm thinking about uploading some mixes to youtube.
So I'm just wondering what you guys think makes a great mix?
    Many thanks, Patrick.

While listening suddenly realising the next song already dropped, going back to find the transition and being unable to find (or it takes like 5 attempts)

With music you don't know of course.

    OR

Suddenly hearing a sick mash-up of some of your favorite songs (preferably live & legit)

    OR

When the DJ himself is obviously building up to a climax by effects and sample/loop choices and whatnot (also preferably live & legit)

    My 2 cents

A good mix of genres. Nothing worse than a repetitive kick drum every 4th for an hour :cringe:

pffft yourself. You may think you have all the energy in the world but I'm still walking out on you after 1 hour of "unce unce unce unce unce."

You know, I guess there's people that still want to hear an *insert genre here* mix so in that case I suppose they're gonna get what they ask for.

It's subjective in the end I suppose.

Its so subjective, generally I feel a good intro is important, then good tunes to follow and try and vary your transitions...

ive made mixes that some of my friends like and then others are critical off, hwat to do, at the end of the day you cant please everyone.

jprime - this is why I like your remixes. Same attitude as me to tunes. I tend to refer to it as 'musical ADHD'
