"Most of the people that used to be relevant are not any more. Times
change. This is a business. You have to keep relevant, because
there's always some kid in his bedroom making ridiculous records!
All the heroes that I grew up with are just not relevant right now
because they're not willing to change with the times.
    " - Dennis Ferrer

"All the good music has already been written by people with wigs
    and stuff.
" - Frank Zappa (ok, he wasn't a DJ, but still a good quote)

"It's not about what the equipment does, it's about what you can
do through that equipment. That's where the soul is.
    " - Ritchie Hawtin

"Clubs are weird places. Debauchery as a business model..."
    - Derrick Carter

"The power? Of the DJ? It’s to motivate the crowd man. It’s to have the
insight to motivate the crowd. To have the crowd at your fingertips.
To control the crowd. That’s the best f*ckin’ power man.
    " - Kool Herc

"You're gearing up for your mix, and your intentions are good, but
you end up being judged by the mix rather than the record. And the
record should be more important than the mix!
    " - David Mancuso

"The bottom line from all of this is, I don't care if it's Digital, I don't care if it's Vinyl
...Our goal as DJs is to rock a f*cking crowd. Period!
    " - DJ ICEMAN

wise words straight form the panda-dojo:

"do your thing, concentrate on your own stuff, be good at what you are doing, practise, practise, practise, keep promoting yourself but don´t spam, don´t give a sh*t what others are saying and doing, do it for the love of music, it´s not about the fame, it´s about the fun, don´t believe the hype, people come and go everytime and those who really stand for something will stay. fact.period."
I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.

"Allowing the computer to do one thing is only boring if you don't use the time that the computer saves you to do something else" - Ritchie Hawtin, in reference to using sync.

This definitely opened my eyes to the idea that automating some aspects of shows could actually increase my artistry, instead of making it "fake". Made me realize that ableton is the best performance platform for me.
