Nightcrawlers - Push The Feeling On Remix
I haven't been doing much of anything lately... working all the time. But I accidentally started putting this remix together, and I'm kinda liking where it's going. I don't want to say it's a trance remix, because really it's not. I don't know. Feedback would be appreciated.

By the way, if you've been living under a rock and have never heard this song, the youtube video is here.
Also, I'm aware the volume levels aren't fantastic, and probably I should change the level of the cutoff on the filter... but hey, it's a demo.

Brings back memories.
A good start but sounds too clean.
Add some basslines and stuff.
You should make it maybe 5 BPM faster.
What did you use to put it together?

I used Fruity. Actually that's all I really know how to use. I took two samples (obviously) from the original track, the vocal part and the obvious brass (I think?) sound.
In Fruity I used 3xosc for a couple of the synths.
I used a preset in Sytrus for the trancy synth that kicks in at the end, which I should change probably.
Also, I tried to avoid using the drum samples that Fruity comes with...
And with regards to being too clean, what do you mean exactly? I didn't want to stray too far from the original. And yes, I didn't mean to leave the bpm at 118. Oops

Knew that because it sounds like a lot what I did.
There is nothing wrong with Fruity. It's easy, fast and extensible through VST.
I would rather have a well rounded Fruity track, than one of those half-assed studio productions which were solely put together on a virus.
Now to the song.
It sounds like what it is, a patchwork of samples and loops, but it doesn't sound like one song, because there are just too few elements which connect all parts of the song.
A bassline alone could help a lot, so try it.
On the other hand don't overdo it or it will sound like a Bloody Beetroots track (No, offsene,I love them, even have one of their masks, but their sound is pretty heavy).

Yeah I know. I really put the whole thing together in about 2 hours total. It's just a rough outline of what I want to do. Basslines are tough for me for some reason and because of this I usually do them last. Transitions between different parts of the song are the hardest part to do smoothly imo and really take the longest.
Lol @ Bloody Beetroots style mix of this song.
After I get off work tonight I'll try fixing some rough spots, I just wanted to know if in general people liked it.
