    Default Building A Studio. Help.

    Hey All.
So! ITS TIME! Were building a studio in our garage. The room is going to be about 10 by 11.
Were producing EDM. Computer + Monitors.
We need to order all of the materials this week. We are building a room inside of the garage, and basically no sound can exit, as the kitchen is just next door.
Keep in mind: The walls of the garage are about 6 inch concrete beasts.

    Willing to spend around 4-5k.
    So we need :

    Outer layer
Insolation ( Acoustic Insolation? Help? )
    Inner layer
    (Another insolation layer)
    Most inner layer
Then what is the best material to put on the walls? Need to sound good. The mixes are being sent straight to label's so its important.

Any questions which you guys need to be answered for more info please ask away.
Thanks for any and all the help.
    Jed.

acoustic insulation is used to reduce echos in a room, not for sound proofing. have someone in the kitchen and someone in the garage and raise the music till you can hear it in the kitchen and note that volume.

as far as buying that shit goes you can get egg carton shaped insolation from walmart in the bedding section

If the walls are bare concrete/brick, you can frame up studs and hang some thick drywall with insulation which would cut down on noise. Then make some acoustic treatment for the room with 1X4 and insulation panels like rock wool the cover them with air through fabric to look good. I'm being pretty broad with this too, especially when it comes to acoustically treating your room.

Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated. I'm looking a bit more for specific suggestions on products. What to use exactly for insolation, and what to use for the walls. Then what to use inside.
Thanks again, Sorry to be a pain (kind of).
