    two more pix:

confirmed - the person who made that cockpit is using several Samsung U70's (about 80 euros per 7" screen) and MFD extractor to clone the displays. MFD extractor seems to have a LOT of options for playing around with the cloned displays. I seriously can't wait to give this a go.... soooooo much potential to build sick new controllers in Traktor with this set-up!

jesus - these 'pit' builders are serious, erm, enthusiasts...

look at some of the hardware mods they're making! Can you imagine if you could get one of these guys to make you a Traktor controller!

It looks like the flightsim they use is able to export all of the display values as data to external hardware (allows the dials to move etc)... I wonder if any of this is possible in Traktor? Like, instead of showing the time remaining on a track on your screen, you could output that data to an LCD display instead (like this one: http://www.shinko-technos.co.jp/e/JP...S-13A_disp.jpg) Maybe with OSC?

Erm, looks to me like MFDex is Application-specific. I tried it and doesn't seep to work.
Good find anyway. I found JoystickJoiner tool there and now I can map multiple joysticks as one device.

PS: You have mouse problem with screen-cutting. What do you do if you move the mouse into some area that is blanked/not-cloned?
Also, cut-up touch-displays dont return good x/y values back to the app.
Many photons have died to bring you this information.

I read somewhere that MFDex will work with any application as long as the elements you want to clone are visible on the primary display. If you want to clone 'hidden' sections of the screen you need to run a specific flightsim. You might be right though - will have a play with it in a few hours when I get home.

re - mouse problems; I'm designing a controller that will completely remove the need for a mouse! The touch screen issue is a valid concern though - will have to look into that.

yes - mac version or some other equivalent software for a mac.

I looked into programming one for osx but after reading lots about its window management and the graphics system I gave up.

Surely some kind of remote viewing / vnc client could achieve what is wanted..?

    and we have a winner!!

    http://trac2.assembla.com/lightnings..._x86_Setup.msi

install that - it does exactly the same as CloneThing, only it's much smoother and runs perfectly

I've got it running in Traktor right now - video coming up!

you get the idea though - note the 0 latency between Traktor and the cloned window
