I always use the default (89db). No need to change it. If a track is clipping, I might take it down even further.

rastey , also use the "track gain" option not album gain, the Db setting is up to you (i use 94)

Jester 0 what do you about tracks that have significant clipping at 94db?

Well I don't know what default I set on my MP3 player. I think I set it on avg rate that is 90db- 92db. Do you think it is idle or more than d normal range! Please suggest. I really need your help in this as I really don't have any idea about d speed of mp3.

I would say 90% of the tunes i run through need to be boosted in volume. Never had any issues with clipping mate.
