Not really 'DJ-ing' as such but music creation with alternative digital devices for sure. Sadly the table is not really for sale but you can pay for them to build you one. (http://reactable.iua.upf.edu). Bjork has experimented with this in a few of her shows.

I've personally worked with the same technology (multitouch surface) and software (reactivision) so i can see how much work must have gone into this to get it stable. Pretty awesome stuff imo.

My last project using this tech was building an interactive bar surface but with some new technology coming out (namely micro-projectors) I might try and setup a portable size rig and make some multitouch DJ software ;D
Perhaps even mod it to make it usable with ableton somehow.. that could be cool!

I have seen some you tube video clips with these they look really cool, though i have never seen anyone play on one that would hold up to the scrutiny of a live audience. They make cool youtube videos but thats about it in my honest opinion. Id love for someone to show me otherwise !

Probably a differently shaped surface would be more appropriate for DJ-ing.
    This is synth/sampler setup.

Totally. I was thinking something similar to JazzMutant-Lemur except using that technology to do weird stuff (and perhaps 2-3x as big... more small table sized) More for fun then anything else. Somewhat of a long term project I think tho once I have cash to fund it ;D

That demo sounds bloody awful. Why isnt there a decent video instead of a Messe video with a million other DJs and musicians playing in the background.

    Definitely a interesting instrument though.
