Default I need ur suggestion regarding MIXER

Hello guys, m kinda new and confused regarding the right gig and gear.
Some refer me to get a controller, others point me out for CDJ's and a mixer.?

Well i have planned (locked down) for CDJ's 900 (a pair)
what mixer shud i go for in a reasonable budget?
and is it possible to link my cdj's with traktor s4? and use it as a mixer?

    thanx

CDJs will not hook up to Traktor S4 without an audiocard and you wouldn't want to I think....

I say go with the DJM900 for its HID compatibility with Traktor.....it would work nicely with your CDJs.

DJM9000 are worth upwards of 1500.

If that isn't an issue though. Definitely go for it.

DJM 700, DJM 850 and xone 42 are all incredible mixers that are relatively cheap

Yes, and they will even work as timecode control for the CDJ's with Traktor + S4.

BUT: Will only work if you are plugged into the computer and running Traktor on your computer, will not work whatsoever without a computer.

However some other controllers will allow you to use the controller standalone e.g. Denon MC6000, VCI400 among others, but you would need a separate Audio6 for timecode.

If you want a standalone setup without a laptop permanently involved, the Pioneer DJM's, or Allen & Heath xone's series are pretty much standard in the majority of clubs you will encounter out and about.

Really depends if you are looking for a pioneer CDJ workflow, a Traktor workflow or a combination..

can't he run his S4 as a four channel mixer and run the CDJs on two of those channels? (I am asking)

    without timecode..

    edit: clarification

    Yes he can...

    (and yes Deevey answered it)
