Default Beatgrids in Traktor shifting as a song progresses

So I was working on beatgridding some songs (It's been a looooong time) and I'll get one part of the song how I want it right on beat, but then I'll play a later part of the song and the line is shifting over from the beat. Why is it doing this?

is this a song with a live drummer or maybe an older track? It's doing it because the beat isn't in exact time. You can add multiple beat markers to a song to compensate.

3 things will do this. 1) your Track BPM is an asshair off 2) the song has a BPM shift somewhere or an inconsistant BPM (live drummer). 3) The song has been chopped up and put together a little off beat (off beat DJ recording or shitty production chop up)

These are older songs, (Trying to prep for a wedding). Like Billie Jean for example is all sorts of screwed up.

    And some older rock/80s

Those will be nearly impossible to grid. If you absolutely need them gridded you can warp them in Ableton. They will lose some of their feeling if you do that though.

Like Photojojo said. At least you'll know the BPM, so beatmatching wont be so hard

I just saw that these are for a wedding. Simple fades on this stuff will work just fine.

Thing is im kind of a stickler for playing songs too long since I typically play house music. Are there really any effective ways to change songs in the middle of a track without it sounding weird?

Do not change these songs in the middle. You will have a riot on your hands.
