Need Help With My New Mini Kaoss Pad!

Can somebody please help me figure out how to accurately gauge the BPM of a beat. Do i tap the BPM button to the beat or the overall tempo? How important is this for the effects on the KP?

thanks darrel. I have already watched it a few times though. No help with the BPM. I understand the premise of it just not exactly HOW to use it

the accuratest way is to tap the tempo to the beat,course you can't adjust it with the navigation knob to e.g. 145,3 just 145 or 146.
and for some effects is the accurate tempo necessary and for other not(see the bpm sync in your program list)
