    Default Scratching in traktor

Do I need traktor scratch in order to scratch properly in traktor?

I have traktor pro 2.6 right now and I just mapped my controller to the "jog turn" command. It seems to work fine but then what is the point of the traktor scratch edition?

You need Traktor Scratch to use timecode with either turntables or CDJ's.

its if you want to use timecode which is a certain type of set up. CDJs with midi data would not be considered timecode I believe.

timecode is a recorded audio signal that the software interprets for playback, midi is data.
