Default OS X app to display song notes?

As I am learning to play the piano, I am looking for an app that I can load in musical notes for songs. It should be possible to load the notes in some standard format (if there is something like that) and it should be possible to set a tempo and then "play" the music with the software automatically scrolling to the next page if needed.

Essentially I want more or less what is offered as part of the GarageBand lessons, but just with other songs than offered with the GarageBand lessons. It does not seem to be possible to do so in GarageBand unfortunately .. or?

seems like its windows only: http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/player/
for now i have found finale reader, but i am not yet sure if this will really serve me well.
i also found various other more advanced software like sibelius, but that would be too expensive since its more tailored towards composers.
