    Default Another Ableton Mix

This is an old mix, but as we're posting them today thought y'all might be interested in the Ableton Setup. This was recorded live in Camden playing alongside DJ Lobsterdust from Bootie NYC, complete with the bit when i pressed all tracks off by mistake.

The set up had 4 basic tracks - track 1, track 2 - normal tracks, some additional beats on track c and a track of acapellas. All in session view. From memory i think T-racks was placed over the stereo output with two FX Sends - Delay and Reverb.

Each channel had a 3 band EQ.

French Kiss was beat mapped painstakingly over the slowdown so i could mix it into other tempos - same with Mickey Slimm's HOP remix which goes from 130 to 96. All the tempo shifts were done live.

Similarly the A-Team has some bars of 3/4 which i had to stretch the last beat over 2 so you didn't get that DJ Qbert thing where it goes out of phase.

    2007-July-07 - Bar Uno - Camden

    1. Theme from the A-team
    2. House of Pain - Jump around (Micky Slimm Remix)
    3. Midnight Juggernauts vs Olivia Newton John - Physical Recovery
    4. Justice vs Olivia Newton John - Lets get Nazareth
    5. Dunproofin - Let's make Horny Love (css vs i'm horny)
    6. Calvin Harris - Acceptable in the 80's
    7. Diskoboxx vs Kraftwerk vs Franz Ferdinand - Tour de Franz
    8. 10000 spoons vs CMP - (Killers vs Liquid vs supermode) Somebody sweet told me why
    9. Cryptonites vs Peaches - Fuck God
    10. Unklejam - where did love go
    11. Village Idiot - Asleep at the Wheel (Depeche Mode vs Simian)
    12. Little Louis vs Bobby McFerrin - Thinking about your french kiss
    13. Who Boys - Voodoo Molly (Little Richard vs Jimi Hendrix vs DNB)
    14. DJ NoNo - Supercalibreakz (Julie Andrews vs Shy FX)

The endings cut a bit short as i was overrunning my 30 mins slot (I was just starting with Ableton then, so 30 mins was all i was prepared to risk - the rest was on CD's).

Excuse the quality but this was recorded live from the outboard and so is really over compressed.

    See whatcha think

I will download when I get off of work and leave comments.

We need a dj mix forum now. So we can all hear each others mixes ya know.

*thumbs up to everyone talking about how they use Ableton* - This forum/blog sometimes can have such a focus on the VCI-100 and Traktor and how it applies to controllerism that sometimes i feel that we are over niche ourselves. So i really do promote people talking about other software alternatives and how they apply to controllerism

i agree this site is a little too VCI-100/Tractor specific i think it would turn other people away

for instance at the moment i use VDJ an external mixer and a pair of XP10s and i often feel a little out of place even though im doing similar things to what all you guys are doing! (cue juggling etc etc).

    soz for off topic there!

I'm loving this mix so far - regardless of what was used to create it

I'm sure you rocked the crowd, props!!
