Default Audio 4 DJ drivers are rubbish

    Everybody I need your help!

I just bought a NI Audio 4 DJ soundcard. I used to use a Maya 44 USB soundcard, and it was great until I started playing in bigger clubs. I needed an upgrade, and I love NI.

But when I hooked it up and set up the 2.0.13 drivers for Windows, I got crackles all the time when using Traktor Pro. I used to get 5.5ms latency with no problems with my Maya, but even at 50ms I was getting bad sound with the Audio 4 DJ! After freaking out about how to order better cables to South Korea in time for next Saturday, I tried the ASIO4ALL drivers, and they work perfectly. Problem solved.

I would prefer to use NI drivers though. Does anybody know what the problem could be? I've tried replacement cables (not great, but with ferrite attachments). Any help is really appreciated. Thanks!

    Migs.

Yeah a lot of people have said that on the forum. Strange that it makes such a difference, and that is so different between the two drivers too! Do you play out with it on Windows? Are the ASIO4ALL drivers to be trusted?

Can you confirm it works perfect all the time? OSX 10.6.6 or 10.6.7?

Also what latency do you get?

    Thanks

New beta drivers for the A4 available from the Updates page at NI support site might help.

I would avoid beta drivers for doing gigs, maybe for test purposes..

Why on earth are you using 2.0.13 drivers???

2.9.4 drivers are the latest "release" drivers.

    This driver has known issues.

2.9.8 drivers are the latest "beta release" drivers.

There is not much known about these drivers as they were just released.

2.0.15 are the BEST known drivers for Windows.

If you are running windows, and experiencing ANY type of audio issues, get yourself the "2.0.15" drivers for windows, and use those.

Please post back with an update after testing the 2.0.15 driver.

Really? I've never had any issues with mine on any of the drivers.

Only issue I do have with the audio 4 is that I have absolutely no idea how to turn off the phono pre-amps when using it in linux.

+1 on the 2.0.15 windows drivers guys. Went back to this version myself as had nothing but trouble with the 2.9.4 versions.
