Default Good Ole Honest Advise or just vote the poll

Ok so I am posting this as a poss to get some voters and advise if you don’t want to give advice please vote on the pole.

I am in dire need of some monitors I won’t go into why I don’t want the KRK’s or other brands. I just want some good sound advice I know everyone’s studio application is different.

Any I have heard two of the three of my consideration and unable to locate the one in my area…
    Here is my pick..
    M-Audio BX8’s D2
    Yamaha HS80’s
    Behringer Truth B3031A

I heard the sound of the M-Audio’s in the 5” and could only imagine the 8” I heard the 8” Yamaha and for some reason to me the M-Audio 5” sounded better then the Yamaha 8” could this be true or maybe positioning of the monitors they were in a total different position and angle then the M’s this was also at Guitar Center in there studio…

Any help or suggestions would be great

i use the M-Audios for DJing (the BX8a version) and so does a friend of mine who also produces. we can vouch for them. for the money they are a solid piece of equipment. keep in mind though that opposed to the yamahas, volume is the only thing that can be manipulated on them.

you can do a limited amount of tweaking on the the yamahas while on the m-audios you can't. if that's not a concern you are fine with the m-audios.

HS80M user here. Couldn't be happier. I own a set of KRK RP8's too and I'd rather listen to my Yamaha's. One thing to remember, the port is on the rear of these speakers. Placing them right up against a wall or corner drastically effects the bass response. If you shop around you can find a set of HS80's for 500$ delivered online.

Anything but the Truths. Especially if you plan on producing.

    HS80ms no question.

The guitar center monitor listening room is awful.
