If they don’t want to see the light…..just make them feel the beat…..
I guess this is for cars? Am I right?
Real DJs mix while they drive instead of having software do it for them.
Call me crazy but I wouldn't mind having my favorite new tracks mixed for me. Having them mixed right away means I don't have to skip through the boring long intro / outro drums. Whatever; I'm certainly not going to buy one, but i'm not really upset by this whole thing. And before someone says something, I don't have time to record a mix every time I get five new tracks I really like.
My point to the whole thing was that it's becoming so mainstream and everyone (maybe just around where I live?) and their mom is a DJ, that this is what it's coming to. I myself am relatively new to the entire scene but I feel like it's more of a novelty rather then doing it for the love of music. Also I love hearing mixes with tracks i've never heard before - especially those tracks that you actually have to dig around Sound Cloud and what not for. Don't get me wrong, I also play tracks from the Beatport top 100 but I love finding tracks and playing tracks that are not up there.
Edit: The whole point is to take the listener on a journey. Not fucking just ... idk.
Novelties wear off fast and again, nothing new here...
The dj-gimmick is running for a long time now and cheap gear & gizmo's have attracted the masses.
This was not the case when you had to invest in 2 expensive SL's, a mixer, cans and loads of vinyl before you could start spinning.
Is that a bad thing ?
I don't think so, dj-ing should be for everyone that enjoys music and wants to do creative stuff with it.
It should not matter what gear you use, what clothes you wear, how old you are or how much cash is in you bank account...
Dj's are not special / elite / better then the rest.
If they don’t want to see the light…..just make them feel the beat…..
