Default Any thoughts on the Stanton SCS.4DJ

I was looking at buying one, it looks like a really good and simple system, and for the price it looks like you cant beat it. I was wondering if anybody had one or used one and what their thoughts on it was. Is it worth buying one, or should I just save up the money for something better.

Wouldn't waste my time unless you really want something portable that doesn't require a laptop. Dollar for dollar, the S2 still beats the hell out of it.

It would be nice to have something that portable, that still has the option of hooking up the laptop to it.

It's a great idea in theory and I'm sure Pioneer will bring out an all-in-one unit that is good in time, but people I know who have played with the SCS (I haven't) were a bit critical, said it felt cheap.
It has got decent reviews though so if you can try one somewhere local then I'd say go try it out.

I do like the idea of it, and from what I've seen it would be something I would buy and take on trips with me where I dont think I'll be doing a set but if it came up I would have something to do it on, or on trips where I dont want to haul my turntables mixer and crate with me.

Looks like a pretty good solution for mobile use. I wonder what the sound quality is like.

I used to own one and returned it a week later! Analyzing tracks took too long and the mixer has no hot cues. Midi mode was okay but mapping the jogs was almost impossible for some reason. It's been more than a year since i messed with it so im not sure if Stanton improved all this with updates. Other than the chassis I believe it was all made of plastic. I did like the jog wheels, they were a good size and was fun tho scratch on. Browsing tracks on the menu was kind of laggy and felt generic.
