Default How/what i need to bring international dj/artist to perform on my event.

    Hi there,

Its been a year since i open my own event company dealing with rave and dance event and now I'am taking another step up by bringing international djs to my country/event but i dont have the experience and knowledge about it.
A guide/know how would be great to help me study the things i need before i do any bookings.

    Thanks in advance.

Be prepared to spend a LOT of cash,

    Is your event well known?
    Does it sell tickets?
Do you play the same style of music every week?

    Next:
    THE ARTIST
We booked Firebeatz in 2011 before they properly broke through,
Get their booking email from their website
Email their booking agent asking how much and for an artist rider
They'l ask you what date/venue/time etc and give you a price
once you pay that fee, thats them booked.

    THE RIDER
Read that fucking thing as carefully as humanly possible
99 times out of 100 it will be carefully laid out so you do not miss a thing.

They will have hotel specifications, 4*+, Late check in/out etc
Flight specifications, Airlines to be flown with, normal/business class etc
Transport from airport -> hotel -> gig -> hotel -> airport specifications, What kind of cars to use,
Food/Drink spec, what they want in their hotel room for them arriving, bottles of vodka, cans of this/that fruit, cereal
Stuff they want at the gig, cdj 2000s, DJM 900, wired up a certain way, one on the left, two on the right, or vice versa

Once you have all of that worked out, let them know their flight arrangements and anything else they want to know,
Find out the usual # comes to your gig, e.g 200,
Find out max capacity of your gig e.g 400

    act price/ 300 = ticket price
note: if tickets are too pricey people wont come
    Get tickets made
    Sell tickets

This is going to be specific to each country. You may need a workers visa, these things can cost a nice chunk of money and take time, horror stories of such visas being delivered last minute or late are not uncommon. No one on this forum will be able to answer these questions unless they know the specifics of your country.

It is your JOB to know these details, not only in regards to insuring the event goes down well but also as to not get the act into any legal troubles(there are more than one stories of djs playing in some countries on a tourists visa and then getting banned from the country for multiple years, administration is no joke).
Check with local peers who also do events with international talent as they might help with details.

This #1 ... could get messy unless its in order, gig might not happen and in some of the more corrupt areas they'll let it slide at the airport and turn up the at the door of the club during the gig expecting a payoff on the night
