    Default Rekordbox & USB Sticks

I am very new to Rekordbox and using USB sticks for music, I have an external drive and a simple 8gig stick. When I put music on the external drive it is on there in an instant but using the much smaller stick takes forever. What is it that causes this, is it just the space allotted making it take longer or is it the difference in what type it is?

    Thanks guys!

perhaps u have usb3 on ur harddrive which transfers data alot faster!

If there is not enough space rekordbox will notify you.

    good luck!

USB sticks, especially cheap ones, can be incredibly slow. External hard drives will typically max out the bandwidth of a USB 2.0 port.

Look out for read/write speeds next time you buy if it's important.

Yes you probably higher write speed on your external hard drive.

Specifically what model of USB stick do you have?

There's so many cheap $1/gb and less USB sticks that have terribly slow write speeds available. Lol

I had a few cheap 64GB USB sticks. They had incredibly low write speeds. I am now using a 128GB Samsung SSD drive in a USB 2 case. Read and write speeds are now ridiculously quick. I also feel tracks load much faster now on CDJ 2000's.
